Currently, the focus is primarily on supply chains, and one available example shows information on recyclable parts of a car model for use in a car recycling company via Catena-X.
However, the architecture is open and data is data, so that other data content and business cases will also be possible in the future…….

Details

Confinity-X with four product areas

Cofinity-X will build a product portfolio with four product and service offerings.

Open Marketplace
The open marketplace will mediate between network participants. The products and services offered there by Cofinity-X and other partners will allow potential customers to participate in the Catena-X data ecosystem.

Data Exchange
The data exchange between the participating companies is based on sovereign, secure and standardized principles and without any lock-in effect on business applications. Each participant is to retain complete control over its data at all times.

Federated- and Shared Services
Federated services enable the exchange of data between the applications offered in the marketplace in an interoperable open source approach.

Onboarding Services
The Onboarding Services will support the adoption of the Catena-X data ecosystem and the connection of all players along the automotive value chains. Furthermore, the establishment of a true circular economy is foreseen to improve the use of recyclable materials.

Another goal is for the Eclipse Dataspace Connector (EDC) to be used by every company to establish a uniform standard for data exchange across the automotive industry. Companies can use the EDC from Cofinity-X as a managed service or as a license.
