The role of the suppliers is changing
On the one hand, they are showing themselves as system suppliers who not only work for the car manufacturers, but can also give them with 
new know-how a helping hand on a large scale.
But there is also another side: due to times of Corona, semiconductor shortages, logistics problems and the Ukraine war, sales are much smaller anyway.
With their focus on high-margin vehicle models, the OEMs are reaping profits – in some cases at record levels. Suppliers, who are dependent on unit sales, are seeing less and less of this. They are partly the big losers of the crisis years.
As is well known, exceptions prove the rule:
The semiconductor manufacturers around NXP and Infineon are unsurprisingly among the shooting stars of the industry.
Electromobility is lifting battery cell manufacturers like the chinese CATL to new heights. In contrast, like Continental, Schaeffler, Harman or Denso, on the other hand, have to swallow the bitter pill of significant sales losses.

The lucky ones
Leading Suppliers in the Top 100
Bosch and Denso are still the top two. ZF and Magna are rising up.
Bosch – well known but here still some kpa’s: Foundation: 15 November 1886, Stuttgart; Number of employees 402 600.
Denso Corporation is a global automotive supplier, especially for automotive electronics and automotive mechatronics. Headquarters: Japan. Number of employees: ~ 180,000
Rissing to the Top 100
TE Connectivity, CATL and NXP Semiconductors, Infinion are the shooting stars.
TE Connectivity is an internationally active Swiss group with US roots and headquarters in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, and significant administrative centres in Pennsylvania.
CATL – Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited is the largest Chinese manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries. Meanwhile, the company is also one of the ten largest automotive suppliers in the world.
NXP Semiconductors is a Dutch semiconductor manufacturer. NXP is the semiconductor division of Royal Philips that was spun off in 2006.
